This TCL 55-Inch 4K HDR Roku TV Is A Heck Of A Deal At $585

When the first 4K TVs hit the market, their high price and dearth of worthwhile content made them a tough sell. But before long, 4K TVs became much more affordable, to the point today where there's little reason not to consider one if you're looking to upgrade. TCL's 55R617 unit is a perfect example of how the incredible value found in today's TVs.

At $649.50 (as of the time of writing), this 55-inch television supports both HDR10 and DolbyHDR formats with the DCI-P3 color profile, so that you can enjoy current or remastered HDR-supported content with much richer color than typical sets can provide.

One spec the set provides that's a little misleading is the 120Hz clear motion index, which many will take to mean true 120Hz. Despite the marketing, this television is just 60Hz, but that still makes it ideal for living room gaming - provided your PC can keep up (lower resolution gaming would of course be possible).

As if the TV hasn't packed in enough already, it even includes full Roku functionality under-the-hood (and a Roku remote), giving users a media center worth using out-of-the-box. All of that, and the fact that it's a sizable 55-inches, all for the bargain price of $649, makes this look like the TV to get this summer.
