T-Mobile Intros GoSmart Mobile Prepaid Brand, Takes It Nationwide

T-Mobile USA has been doing everything it can of late to be the "uncarrier," bucking the trends that have defined the strange, contract-driven U.S. wireless market for years. And now, it's promising something even crazier: "FreeDUM in wireless." That's no joke. T-Mobile today took the wraps off of GoSmart Mobile, a no-annual-contract wireless service for budget-conscious consumers, ending the era of hidden fees, ETFs, etc. Best of all? T-Mobile's backing it, and rates start at just $30/month.

For example, customers have the choice of purchasing an inexpensive SIM kit to use in their own compatible mobile phone or they can buy a low-priced GoSmart phone. In addition, all GoSmart services are offered without limits. $30/month gets you unlimited text + talk, while an extra $5 adds basic data. $45/month, which is similar to Walmart's Straight Talk plan, adds 3G data.

So, tired of your contract? Looks like you've got another option.
