Apple Launching Face ID iPad Pro, New Mac Mini, And Updated MacBook This Fall Says Analyst

In May word was going around that noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo was leaving KGI Securities and the world of Apple rumors behind. While he did, in fact, leave KGI, he is still prophesying things all things Apple and is back with a new rumor. Kuo is now at TF International Securities and has published an investor note that outlines what he expects to see in the fall hardware lineup from Apple.

Perhaps the biggest news is that long after Tim Cook promised the Mac mini would remain part of the lineup as the cheapest Mac, it will finally get a performance update. Sadly, if you are dying for details on that Mac mini there are no hardware predictions offered. Other tidbits Kuo predicts include three new iPhone models with a 5.8-inch OLED model, 6.5-inch OLED model, and a 6.1-inch LCD model.

Kuo is predicting updated iPad Pro tablets with Face ID and no home button. Those tablets will include an updated 12.9-inch version and a new 11-inch version. Other than the new Mac mini, Kuo is also predicting upgrades for the MacBook, MacBook Pro, and iMac. The latter is tipped to get "significant performance upgrades."

The updated MacBook machines very well receive Intel's Coffee Lake processors inside like we saw in that MacBook Pro that turned up on Geekbench at the beginning of the month. As for the MacBook Air, the analyst is predicting that a new low-price notebook will launch from Apple, but it may not wear the MacBook Air moniker.

Also predicted are new Apple Watch models with larger screens with Kuo calling out a 1.57-inch and 1.78-inch screen with both featuring enhanced heart rate detection. Rumors suggesting that updated AirPods are coming have turned up last month and Kuo seems to agree. He expects that mass production for AirPower and updated AirPods will begin this fall.
