UPS Targets iPhone Users With New App

A new shipping application from UPS lets you track and ship packages, locate a UPS store using GPS, and more from your iPhone or iPod Touch. The free shipping app joins other UPS-enabled solutions for Apple users. In fact, NRG Software, a UPS Ready strategic provider, recently added NRGship Mac to its shipping software lineup.

“Apple users are an innovative group of customers who appreciate the capabilities that make the most of their devices. These new solutions help them take full advantage of the world’s largest package delivery company,” said Jordan Colletta, vice president of customer technology marketing at UPS.

With the new iPhone and iPod touch application, users can access their My UPS Address Book and Preferences and create shipping labels. These labels can be e-mailed in a PDF file for printout. If you log in to the application, you'll see a history of tracked shipments that automatically refreshes when the application is opened. You can also nickname UPS tracking numbers for quick reference. For users who don’t want to log in, you can still view tracking information.

The iPhone and iPod touch shipping application is available for free from the App Store or at www.itunes.com/ups/. For more information on the application, users can visit www.ups.com/iphone.

NRGship Mac helps organizes all the details of a user’s shipments in one place. The application provides easy access to UPS online services such as UPS Tracking, UPS Rates & Service Selection, UPS Time in Transit, UPS Address Validation, and UPS Shipping. NRGship Mac is now available. Customers can try the application free for 15 days by downloading a trial demo at www.nrgsoftware.com/ups.
