Verizon Finally Releases Lollipop 5.0.1 Update For LG G3
At long last, Verizon Wireless customers with LG’s G3 smartphone are getting Android 5.0.1. The OS update has been making the rounds and has already gone out to AT&T
and T-Mobile customers. If you have a G3, you can expect the over-the-air update to begin anytime.
5.0 Lollipop should make your G3
a little easier (and more fun) to use. Animations are improved and the Lock Screen has several password options, including the pattern lock. It’s handy if you’d prefer to swipe your finger than tap out the usual code. Notifications are also improved: you can view multiple notifications on the lock screen if you adjust the settings.
One of the cooler features is Smart Lock, which lets you unlock the G3 via face recognition. It can also unlock your phone if your smartwatch is present. You can check out LG’s instructions
for the features yourself and you can download the update if you’d prefer to install manually
, but it’s probably easiest to wait for your phone to pick up the update over the air.
