Verizon Intros First-Ever Subsidized Windows 7 Netbook
If it's a subsidized netbook you're after, it's Verizon Wireless that
you should be looking at. The wireless operator has a whole slew of
netbooks on the cheap (provided you sign up for pricey 2-year data
plan), and if the current crop isn't good enough for you, two more are
hitting today courtesy of HP.
But there's something extra with one of these two. The HP Mini 311-1037NR is the first Verizon netbook to support Windows 7 Home Premium, while the HP Mini 110-1046NR sports the tried and true Windows XP Home Edition. Both of 'em come with integrated WWAN modules to get you connected wherever a Verizon tower is near, and if coupled with a Verizon Wireless GlobalAccess service plan, they can surf in over 185 international destinations.
The HP Mini 311-1037NR is available for $249.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement on a Mobile Broadband plan, while the HP Mini 110-1046NR will ship in the middle of next month for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and signing the same broadband plan.
