Verizon Now Lets Customers Pick And Choose What Channels They Want With FiOS TV

Cord-cutting TV viewers have been worrying major providers for years. Now, with HBO committing to the subscription model and Netflix adding 4.9 million subscribers in a single quarter, the pressure is on for major providers to split up their beloved bundles. Soon, Verizon’s FiOS will do just that.

Verizon plans to create a small bundles on April 19, according to the Wall Street Journal. The smaller bundle will go for $55 per month and will include ABC, AMC, Food Network, Fox, and other channels. If you want additional channels, you can add them by buying channel packs for $10 extra per month.

The result is an interesting compromise: Verizon keeps its channel bundles, but you have more options when you’re selecting, thanks to the smaller size of the bundles. It’s somewhat similar to Sling TV, the streaming service from Dish Network (which, also recently struck a deal with HBO).

Verizon FiOS is available 12 states, including California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia, as well as the District of Columbia.
