ViewSonic Launches ViewPad 10pro

We’ve kept you apprised of ViewSonic’s ViewPad 10 and its associated updates, and now there’s one more chapter in the story with the release of the ViewPad 10pro.

ViewSonic's new 10.1-inch ViewPad 10pro has specs that are similar to the ViewPad 10, which was released back in March. The primary difference is that the ViewPad 10pro has a different processor and chipset--the 1.5GHz Intel Atom Z670 (Oak Trail) and SM35 Intel embedded DX9 as opposed to the ViewPad 10’s 1.66GHz Intel N455 (Pine Trail) and Mobile NM10 Express.

The newer model is also rated for double the battery life (8 hours), and it runs a newer version of Android on top of the Windows 7 operating system (version 2.3 versus 1.6, which is now upgradeable to 2.2). The ViewPad 10pro has one fewer USB port, but it has a mini HDMI out instead of a mini VGA.

Otherwise, it’s the pretty much the same 1024x600 capacitive multi-touch panel, same 2GB of integrated memory, same WiFi (802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, same 1.3MP camera, and the same storage options (upgradeable to 16GB or 32GB).

The ViewPad 10pro has an ESP of $599 with Windows Home Premium and 16GB of extra flash storage or $699 with Windows Professional and 32GB.
