ViewSonic VG28 Series Built for Comfort, Energy Savings

With all the hoopla surrounding 3D displays, we wondered if anyone would bother releasing a traditional LCD monitor anymore. ViewSonic answered that question today by lifting the curtain on their new VG28 series, the latest in a line of ergonomic widescreen LCD displays with Energy Star 5.0 and EPEAT certifications.

The new models come in three different flavors, including a 20-inch unit ((VG2028wm), 22-inch model (VG2228wm), 24-inch display (VG2428wm), and a sizable 27-inch model (VG2728wm).

"The VG28 displays offer flexibility and comfort along with certified energy savings," said Sean Gunduz, senior product marketing manager, ViewSonic. "Ergonomic design and eco-friendly features are increasingly important for those looking to maximize space and minimize waste, and the VG28 series has been designed with an energy-efficient, high-quality office and classroom set-up in mind."

All four models sport a slim bezel design with hidden stereo speakers, while the two larger models -- the 24-inch and 27-inch -- offer a 90-degree pivot for viewing in either portrait or landscape.

Pricing for the new displays has been set to $249 (20-inch), $299 (22-inch), $369 (24-inch), and $597 (27-inch).
