Walmart To Sell Verizon Wireless iPhone

Earlier today, we learned Verizon Wireless will offer the same $30 unlimited 3G data plan for the iPhone 4 as it currently offers for other smartphones available from the carrier. Now, additional details have surfaced surrounding the retailers who will offer the iPhone 4. More specifically, Walmart has confirmed it will offer the device in select stores on February 10, the same day the iPhone will go on sale in Apple and Verizon Wireless stores.

When Verizon Wireless first announced its intentions to offer the iPhone 4 on January 11, the wireless carrier didn't specify additional outlets where the phone would be available. Instead, Dan Mead, Verizon Wireless president and CEO, said the carrier's "key distribution partners" would get the iPhone "in a matter of weeks" after February 10.

It's still unknown how many Walmart locations will sell the Verizon variant of the iPhone at launch. The retailer currently sells the AT&T iPhone as well. It's been reported that Best Buy will not carry the Verizon iPhone since it already sells the AT&T iPhone. Best Buy has not confirmed or denied this claim.
