Many of the hints reddit users dropped last week were confirmed today by Activision. The game will include a new “War Mode” in which players tackle famous World War II battles. Multiplayer will include objectives that will differ depending on whether a player has chosen to fight for the Allies or Axis. Players will be able to spend time at “Headquarters”, a “robust social space” in between matches. Multiplayer will be available to test at E3 2017 between June 15 and 17.
Call of Duty: World War II also includes a new progression system call “Divisions”. Players will “enlist in a division and progress through the ranks”. Divisions will include infantry and armored options. Activision confirmed that there will be “Zombies” as well, but provided little other information on this mode.
Players who pre-order the game will be eligible to participate in a private multiplayer beta, but there is [currently] no date for this event. The beta will likely be available first on the PS4 and then make its way to other platforms.
