Watch Activision's Explosive Call of Duty: WWII Launch Trailer Here

Activision just launched the reveal trailer and announced release date for Call of Duty: WWII. The game will launch on in November and was described by Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg as “bringing an intense, visceral, boots on the ground gameplay”.

Many of the hints reddit users dropped last week were confirmed today by Activision. The game will include a new “War Mode” in which players tackle famous World War II battles. Multiplayer will include objectives that will differ depending on whether a player has chosen to fight for the Allies or Axis. Players will be able to spend time at “Headquarters”, a “robust social space” in between matches. Multiplayer will be available to test at E3 2017 between June 15th and 17th.

Call of Duty: World War II
also includes a new progression system call “Divisions”. Players will “enlist in a division and progress through the ranks”. Divisions will include infantry and armored options. Activision confirmed that there will be “Zombies” as well, but provided little other information on this mode.

Players who pre-order the game will be eligible to participate in a private multiplayer beta, but there is [currently] no date for this event. The beta will likely be available first on the PS4 and then make its way to other platforms.

Call of Duty: World War II
is the latest series “back to its roots” installment. The first three Call of Duty games, as well as Call of Duty: World at War, were all set in Word War II. Other games focused on the Cold War, modern warfare, futuristic battles, and alternate timelines. As part of the three-year rotation, Sledgehammer Games is the primary developer for Call of Duty: World War II.

Call of Duty: World War II will release worldwide for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 3rd, 2017.
