Windows 10 November 2019 Update Rumored For Launch Soon, What To Expect
Even though the November 2019 Update sticks with Microsoft's cadence of releasing two big Windows 10 feature update per year, there's nothing "major" about version 1909. In fact, the download is so small and inconsequential that most systems should complete the installation process in about 10 minutes or less.
That's good news for those that want minimal downtime, but not so good news for folks that were hoping that the November 2019 Update would bring a slew of new features to the table (as is typically the case). Instead, the November 2019 Update is shaping up to be more like a maintenance release to further improve performance while squashing software incompatibilities and any lingering bugs.
"We believe that Build 18363.418 is the final build and we will continue to improve the overall experience of 19H2 on customers’ PCs as part of our normal servicing cadence," wrote Microsoft back in early October when announcing the November 2019 Update. "Build 18363.418 includes all of the latest 19H2 features as well as the latest fixes included as part of KB4517389."
We can only hope that the November 2019 Update can once and for all fix the Start menu problems that have long affected the May 2019 -- this despite numerous cumulative updates that have been issued to fix the underlying problems. For those that simply can't wait until tomorrow to download the Windows 10 November 2019 Update, you can always join the Windows Insider program and hop on the Release Preview ring. From there, you'll be able to quickly download and install the software on your system.
