World of Warcraft Expansion 'Warlords of Draenor' Sends Gamers Back in Time

There probably won't be a cameo by Michael J. Fox, nor should you expect to man the DeLorean in Blizzard's "Warlords of Draenor" expansion pack for World of Warcraft, but if you jump on board, you will experience time travel. Announced at BlizzCon 2013, the fifth expansion to Blizzard's incredibly popular WoW game sends players to Draenor during a "pivotal moment" in the past to fight alongside or against certain legends at the height of their primal power, like Grommash Hellscream, Blackhand, and Ner'zhul.

"Warlords of Draenor gives players a chance to take a commanding role in one of the Warcraft series’ most crucial conflicts," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "This expansion also includes features that make it easy for anyone to jump right into the action, whether they’ve played WoW at some point in the past or are just setting foot in Azeroth for the first time."

If you're new to WoW and always wanted to see what all the fuss is about, this expansion represents the right time to join. That's because Blizzard is allowing new and returning players alike to instantly boost one character to level 90, including a newly created character, effectively bypassing the grind to catch up with your friends and everyone else who have been playing for a long time. This is a genius move that could potentially lead to an influx of gamers and possibly reverse the trend of losing members.

Draenor also introduces fully revamped player character models and animations for many of the game's existing races, such as orcs, humans, and several other longtime residents of Azeroth. In addition, Blizzard promises new content, zones, dungeons, raids, and more, as well as a new level cap of 100.
