A newly leaked batch of press renders is making the rounds, and the speculation is they show XFX's upcoming Radeon RX 5500 THICC II graphics card. That has not been confirmed, but this batch of renders looks different than recently leaked ones that showed XFX's also upcoming Radeon RX 5700 XT THICC III model.

The Radeon RX 5500 is the newest member of AMD's growing Navi family of graphics cards. AMD launched the new SKU last week. alongside a mobile variant—Radeon RX 5500M—that will land in shipping laptops before the desktop cards arrive.

Radeon RX 5500 Specifications

The Radeon RX 5500 boasts a Navi GPU with 6.4 billion transistors. It features 22 compute units, 1,408 stream processors, and 4GB or 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit memory bus. Stock clocks call for a 1,717 game frequency and 1,845 boost frequency.

XFX's Radeon RX 5500 THICC II might arrive with a factory overclock, though such details are not yet known. What we can see from the renders, however, is an all-black design for the chunky cooler, with dual fans and heatpipes snaking through the heatsink.

The renders also depict a pair of DVI-I ports, an HDMI port, and a DisplayPort. It's powered by a single 8-pin PCI Express connector. The card also appears to take up two expansion slots, whereas XFX's Radeon RX 5700 XT THICC III takes up three (it's technically a 2.7-slot card).

AMD said the Radeon RX 5500 will show up first in OEM desktop configurations next month, followed by standalone cards shipping sometime "this quarter."
