Yahoo! Rolls Out New Cross-Platform Mail Client

Following in the footsteps of Microsoft, which released a revamped Outlook.com a couple of months ago, Yahoo! has today begun rolling out updated Yahoo! Mail clients for the Web, Windows 8, iOS and Android. In a post made to Yahoo!'s corporate blog by CEO Marissa Mayer, she states that the company's users have long requested "fewer distractions" when it comes to email. While the company doesn't go quite as far as Microsoft did with Outlook.com with its minimalism, the end result is quite nice.

The goals of the revamped Yahoo! Mail revolve around making it easier and quicker to get things done, though the company doesn't go into detail about its design choices or what to be on the look out for. Instead, it'll be up to long-time Yahoo! Mail users to see the subtle and not-so-subtle differences. As I didn't have an account before, I just signed-up to check things out, but was greeted to the old template. It'll take a couple of days for the change to be reflected for all users.

If you're a Yahoo! Mail user and have been able to play around with the latest design, let us know what you think in the comments!
