Zotac Announces GeForce GTX 580 AMP2 Edition

If you can't find a Zotac-brand GeForce GTX 580 videocard that suits your fancy, it's certainly not from a lack of available options. That's because Zotac today announced yet another GTX 580 variant, the AMP2 Edition, which is the company's fourth videocard built around Nvidia's GTX 580 architecture.

Zotac also sells an 'ordinary' AMP Edition GTX 580, but unlike that model, the AMP2 doubles the amount of RAM to 3GB and includes a custom cooler outfitted with high-performance heatpipes and "whisper-quiet" dual orange 92mm fans.

"Enthusiast gamers demand the absolute best performance available. With the Zotac GTX 580 AMP2 Edition, we are able to boost high-resolution gaming performance while reducing noise levels and temperatures," said Carsten Berger, marketing director, Zotac International.

Other details include:
  • Engine clock: 815MHz
  • 512 unified shaders
  • Shader clock: 1630MHz
  • Memory clock: 4100MHz
  • 384-bit memory interface
  • Two dual-link DVI-I and mini-HDMI outputs
  • Assassin's Creed Brotherhood game bundle
No word yet on how much the GeForce GTX 580 AMP2 Edition will cost or when it will ship.
