If you’re looking for a bargain basement Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch to pair with your Android smartphone (or iPhone if you’re a glutton for punishment), ZTE has a new offering that might be right up your alley. The ZTE Quartz is packed with plenty of features and it won’t demolish your wallet in the process.

The Quartz is a run-of-the mill Android Wear device, which means that there aren’t too many surprises when it comes to specs:

  • 1.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor
  • 768MB RAM
  • 4GB Storage
  • 1.4-inch 400x400 display covered in Gorilla Glass
  • 500 mAh battery with 2 days of standby time
  • Built-in speaker and microphone for calling
  • IP67 rating
  • 802.11n wireless
  • Bluetooth
  • GPS and cellular connectivity

The integrated GPS and cellular modem mean that you can remain fully self-sufficient while out on your daily run, with full internet connectivity without the need of your Android smartphone. And since the Quartz is an Android Wear 2.0 device, you’ll have full access to the Google Assistant right from your wrist. And you’ll even be able to swap out the band (22mm) if you choose.

Unfortunately, you won’t find a heart rate monitor or NFC sensor on the Quartz, despite what previous reports indicated. However, those omissions allow ZTE to offer a bargain basement price for the Quartz via T-Mobile. The Quartz is priced at $192 and will be available starting April 14th online, and will head to T-Mobile retail stores on April 21st.
