We used the latest versions of PC Mark and SPECviewperf to look at system bandwidth and workstation performance of the Asus A7N8X-E motherboard.  All tests were run at default and overclocked settings.

System Bandwidth

In the PC Mark 2004 CPU and Memory benchmarks we're once again seeing about a 15% increase in performance at the overclocked settings.   Again, neither board seems to pull away from the other in this set of benchmarks.  The Asus motherboard manages a small lead at almost every setting, albeit a small one.

SPECviewperf 7.1.1 was used to measure CAD workstation performance of the Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard.  The most interesting aspect to notice here is that in three of the six tests, the motherboard managed higher scores when set at DDR400 speeds compared to DDR432, by even as much 11% in the drv-09 test.  Maybe the nForce2 Ultra chipset runs more efficiently at its intended speeds, but at this point, SPECviewperf has been the only benchmark to show such a trend.  Next up we have a quick round of gaming benchmarks and our final thoughts.
