ASUS Strix Radeon R9 Fury And The State Of DirectX 12 Performance
Ashes of the Singularity Benchmarks
Oxide's Ashes Of The Singularity was the first application to offer DirectX 12 support. This is an RTS featuring epic, massive-scale planetary battles. As we've mentioned before, the AotS included benchmark is not synthetic like 3DMark’s API overhead feature test, but rather a real-world representation of in-game performance using a variety of workloads.
Here we test Ashes at varying display resolutions with using its "Crazy" graphics preset and 4X anti-aliasing enabled to put as heavy a workload as possible on the GPUs.

Right out the gate, Ashes shows significantly better performance under DX12 across our tested GPUs. It's clear if you are playing Ashes and want to squeeze a bit more performance out of your current GPU, then Windows 10 and DX 12 are worth serious consideration.
