Before we get into the benchmarks, let's take at look at our base system.

Benchmarks With The Pentium III 933
More power Scotty...

Upon boot up of our new P3-933, we were greeted with a new found spring in our system performance.  Boot and load times with noticeably improved.

Let's just do a quick sanity check with SiSoft's Sandra Benchmark suite.

No complaints here folks, just top notch performance.  The P3-933 has significantly more horsepower than its 800 and 866MHz. siblings.  At this point, you were probably astute enough to notice that we were able to overclock the processor to 1GHz.  Full stability at this speed was achieved by boosting the core voltage slightly to 1.7V.  You may or may not have the same results as we did.  Also, it should be noted that although we used the Alpha PEP66 from Plycon for testing, the Intel Stock Cooler was more than adequate to keep the CPU cool and stable at 1GHz.

Let's move right along to more intense "professional" level benchmarks and testing with Ziff Davis' Content Creation Winstone 2000 tests.

Here you can see in graphical form, the type of performance increase we were sensing upon boot-up of the system.  There is almost a 15% increase in speed within this battery of tests incorporating complex tasks like 3D Modeling and Graphics Creation.  All things considered, the P3-933 should make many Designers happy with new found processing power.

On the other hand, the "layman" may be more concerned with Desktop Publishing, Spreadsheet and other types of "business" application related performance.  Also, at the end of the day both camps may want to relax with a little gaming.  Let's have a look at how things stack up here.
