Next we ran SiSoft SANDRA, the the System ANalyzer, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant. Here, we used the Physical Disk test suite and provided the results from our comparison SSDs. The benchmarks were run without formatting and read and write performance metrics are detailed below.

The OCZ Vertex 3 Pro simply crushed the competition in the SiSoft SANDRA Physical Disk benchmark. In terms of read performance, the Vertex 3 Pro offered roughly 103MB/s of additional bandwidth versus the next fastest drive, the Marvell-based SATA 6G Corsair Performance 3 Series. In addition, the Vertex 3's write performance was even more impressive. According to SANDRA, the Vertex 3's write performance is more than double that of the fastest SATA-based SSDs currently available.
