The Snapdragon 835 packs an all new Adreno 540 graphics engine that the company notes offers up to 25 percent more performance than the previous gen Andreno 530. We pit our test phone up against a wide range of devices in our standard battery of tests to put that claim to the test.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 delivered top scores in all of the graphics tests, blowing the roof off the previous best scores in Ice Storm Unlimited, in terms of a total final score. It traded wins with the iPhone 7 in the graphics tests (taking victories more often than not) and overall seems to offer more balanced performance under gaming workloads. The Snapdragon 835 also outpaced the Apple A10 in the iPhone 7 in both GFX Bench tests. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform seems well-positioned to handle the next generation of mobile games and power-hungry VR titles, based on these initial results.
