Prime Day 2021 festivities won't kick off until June 21st, but Amazon is already rolling out many deals on its hardware products. In this case, we're talking about smartphone devices from Amazon smart home brands Ring and Blink. First up is a rather compelling bundle offer on the latest version (2021) of the standard Ring Video Doorbell Wired. The doorbell connects to your router using Wi-Fi and gives you clear, 1080p resolution video from your front door. It also supports two-way audio using the Ring app, allowing you to talk with folks at your front door without even getting up. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired typically costs $59.99, but it's available today for a low $44.99 with free shipping... Read more...
We imagine this is the time of the year that Amazon really bolsters its Prime membership numbers, with people signing up in anticipation of its annual Prime Day event. To that end, Amazon Prime Day 2021 is right around the corner (it takes place June 21-22). Ahead the event, however, Amazon is serving up another treat for Prime members—a free copy of Battlefield 4 for PC. Claiming your copy is rather easy. Just head over to Amazon's Battlefield 4 promotion page, click the Claim Now button, and then grab (copy) the key and redeem it on your Origin account. You will be prompted to sign into your Amazon Prime account when you attempt to do this, if you are not already. And if you are not a... Read more...
If you're in the market for a no-frills tablet that will handle all your media consumption duties (and more) but don't want to spend hundreds of dollars, we have a great deal for you today.  The current-generation Fire HD 10 was launched back in 2019 and carries a retail price of $189.99. However, Amazon is currently selling the tablet with a 43 percent discount ($82 off), bringing it down to just $107.99. The latest Fire HD 10 has, as you might expect, a 10.1-inch Full HD+ display (1920x1200, 224 ppi). Powering the tablet is a 2GHz octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The version on sale today comes with 64GB of onboard storage, although you can boost that capacity further... Read more...
As we get closer to the Christmas holiday, the frequency of delivery trucks coursing through your neighborhood has no doubt spiked. If Amazon's own Prime delivery trucks aren't wheeling down the streets stopping at every other house, there's bound to be frequent activity from USPS, FedEx and UPS trucks as well. Walmart is attempting to battle the dominant Amazon Prime service during the lead-up to Christmas, and it is doing by dropping the $35 order minimum for Walmart+ subscribers on its website starting December 4th. With the $35 minimum now gone, you can purchase as little or as much as you want and get free next-day or two-day shipping on your items. This compares favorably... Read more...

Twitch Prime received a facelift and a new name this week: Prime Gaming. This new name seems to be a play at combining extraneous brands under the Amazon Prime umbrella without making waves and changing much, but could it be a sign of an expansion of Amazon’s gaming division? With this new branding, Amazon and Twitch are looking to expand their offering of free games and presumably draw in more “gaming-oriented” customers. It's also a possibility that Amazon's Project Tempo game streaming service will also be baked into Prime Gaming as a rival to Google Stadia and Microsoft's Project xCloud. The ability to have all gaming-oriented brands under one umbrella would seem to make... Read more...

Amazon Day is an invite-only program for now, and it's not clear how exactly one gets an invite to participate. Customers invited to the service get to pick a specific day of the week for delivery of ordered items at checkout, and unless manually changed, that day will be when all of your orders arrive moving forward. Shoppers will be able to select a different... Read more...

Amazon isn't getting high marks from gamers for its latest policy decision relating to Prime members. The company sent out emails earlier today to Prime members letting them know that the 20 percent video game pre-order discount is ending.  Given that we're all gamers around here and that it's a high chance that you have an Amazon Prime membership, it's likely that you're affected. The 20 percent discount on game pre-orders has been a boon to those who like to receive games on release day and save quite a few bucks in the process. In its place, Amazon will now be giving customers $10 in store credit when pre-ordering "select video games". To qualify for the $10 credit, the game will have... Read more...
