Intel Corp. made an announcement today to cut prices for some processors over a period of three months starting next month in order to regain market share from AMD Inc. Intel, ever pushing forward in its quest for CPU dominance, has released what it hopes will be considered a Core 2 CPU on the cheap, the Core 2 Duo E4400 and E4300. It looks like Intel will make their lower priced follow-up to the quad-core Core 2 Extreme QX6700 processor available soon. Like it's higher-clocked counterpart, the Core 2 Quad Q6600 will feature a 1066MHz FSB and 8MB of L2 cache (4MBx2). With AMD's new chips expected to be out in Q3 2007, Intel has decided to cut prices for their Core 2 Duo and Quad models in the second quarter of 2007.
