Elon Musk might not have done Dogecoin any favors when he hosted Saturday Night Live (SNL) over the weekend, but he's still bullish on the hot cryptocurrency. And as it turns out, it's not just Musk that is enamored with Dogecoin; SpaceX customers are also getting in on the action. Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC) yesterday announced the "Doge-1 Mission To The Moon" and that it will be paid for entirely using Dogecoin. The mission involves a 40-kilogram CubeSat that will ride aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket during a mission planned for Q1 2022. Elon Musk giveth, and Elon Musk taketh away. Such is the case with Dogecoin, the "joke" cryptocurrency that has been on a dramatic rise during 2021 (especially during the past month). This past Wednesday, Dogecoin hit a high of $0.53, a dramatic surge from January 27th when it was trading at a minuscule $0.0075. The very next day, it was $0.65 and hovered around that price until last night. Last night, of course, is when Musk took his controversial turn as guest host of Saturday Night Live (SNL). Dogecoin may have started out as a joke cryptocurrency, but some investors who took it seriously are laughing all the way to the bank. That's because it just hit a new high, surging 30 percent in the past 24 hours to reach $0.53 cents. A small amount compared to crypto like, say, Bitcoin and Ethereum, but bear in mind Dogecoin was trading for a fraction of a cent at the beginning of the year.
