Why?  Feast your eyes below.  Marco and I are out at CES in Las Vegas right now and we've captured some spy photos of a few new motherboards that we're sure will pique your interest.       Alrighty then, it's an Intel Socket T (LGA775) board from none other than EVGA.  They're making an entry into the mobo market with a bit of  a splash.  This is no ordinary Socket T board though. Take a closer look...       That's right people you're looking at dual PCI Express slots in a standard desktop board and we were told in a private session... Read more...

In recent months, Intel's i915G/P and i925X chipsets have taken center stage as the premier chipsets for the Intel P4 desktop platform.  With the new "Grantsdale" and "Alderwood" chipsets came the next major shift in computer technology.  The latest designs employ the newest Pentium 4 LGA775 packaging, while bringing PCI Express and DDR2 to the forefront of the Intel-based market.  With so much change, making the move to Intel's latest offerings requires a little more planning and cost consideration.  Unlike previous chipset updates, the decision of migrating to the newer platform involves more than just a motherboard upgrade.  User's will need to... Hey there gang, welcome back!  Man, it has just been one of those stretches where nothing seems to be going right for me.  The last few weeks I've been dealing with an ailing pet, who is looking much better thankfully.  Now my neck has decided to give me a lesson in pain, to the point that I am looking at the world with a bit of a tilt.  I sure hope this goes away soon.  I kind of feel like Ed Sullivan right now.  So I guess I will be popping the Doan's Back Pills and hope for some relief.  While this did stop me in my tracks yesterday, it isn't stopping me from getting the news out to you!  Here's your latest dose for today... Good morning all.  It looks like my desktop troubles are over.  Man, it has been a long time since I've had problems with any of my machines and I hope this is the last of it for a while.  There's nothing like a reformat once in a while to clean things up, but I was try to hold out for SP-2.  Guess that wasn't in the cards.  Anyhow, now I can get back to being productive on the review and news fronts.  Speaking of news... Good morning everyone. JeffB checking in to ring in the new weekend. Since I've started working from home, weekends have a lot less meaning than they used to, but I still look forward to them. If all goes well I will be snuggling up with a new piece of hardware this afternoon. Otherwise I think I will be getting out. Thanks to my latest addiction, Far Cry, I haven't gotten out much in the last couple of weeks. I really hate games that don't have in-game saves, but I will say that Far Cry is an exception. If you haven't checked it out, you should, it's one of the best I've ever played. Just be aware, this bad boy stresses even the most powerful systems to the brink of reboots. Little secret, turn... Good morning, is everyone doing okay?  I sure hope so!  Unfortunately, I was unable to jump on the editor yesterday due to Fathers Day celebrations with two sets of families.  But, I would like to take this time to personally wish all the Dad's out there a belated Happy Fathers Day.  With a few of HH's very own sporting crumb-snatchers, and maybe a few in the not so distant future (going to get beat for that), I surely know the compassion that these guys put forth year round.  Davo for example.  Besides running the show around here, he has an intensive day job.  *Shakes Head* I don't know how that boy can work two jobs, take TKD, coach a team and still... Major product launches don't seem to be getting any easier these days, at least on our side of the fence here in the online media community.  Competition is fiercer than ever in all of the major functional blocks for personal computing, whether it's Graphics, Platform Chipsets, Drive technology or Processors.  It almost seems like major OEMs are driving too hard in an effort to trump the competition.  On the other hand, high tech, as we all know, is a very unforgiving battleground.  And so, it is with cramped weary fingers and bloodshot tired eyes, that we bring you this showcase of Intel's major platform launch centered around their new Alderwood and Grantsdale chipsets. ...
