OnePlus is very late to the smartwatch game, but the company is looking to hit its competitors where it matters regarding features and pricing. The new OnePlus Watch looks to be a compelling entry with a 46mm casing and a 1.39-inch circular OLED display (326 ppi). One important thing to mention about the display is that it is covered not with Gorilla Glass but with highly scratch-resistant sapphire glass.  Although OnePlus isn't disclosing what SoC is inside its new smartwatch, it will come with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. Likewise, there's requisite Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS support built-in. One thing that you won't find -- at least not with the first generation of... Read more...
By now, you’ve read the leaks, rumors, buzz and hype. The OnePlus 9 series is finally here, and as always, there’s a lot to talk about. 2020 saw OnePlus launch three flagships, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro in the spring, and the 8T (basically an updated OnePlus 8) in the fall. But OnePlus also went down-market with three more handsets last year -- the mid-range Nord and the affordable Nord N10 5G and N100. If that seems like a lot of devices, it is -- not to mention the TVs, earbuds, and watch. OnePlus is basically following Oppo’s playbook. And after years of obviously sharing tech, the two companies recently consolidated their hardware research teams under one name: OPlus. Yes,... Read more...

OnePlus is kicking off its OnePlus 9 Series launch event today, in which the company will talk about its newest mobile products, and you can catch the livestream right here. Barring any surprises, OnePlus will unveil the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9R, and OnePlus Watch today. The event kicks off at 10:00 am Eastern (7:00 am Pacific), and based on past livestreams of this nature, it will probably last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, give or take. So, grab yourself a drink, sit back, and take it all in... While the new lineup... Read more...
Next week will see the arrival of the OnePlus 9 family of flagship Android smartphones, but OnePlus has another product that will launch at the same time. OnePlus has been dropping hints for weeks about its upcoming smartwatch, and today, the first official [full] render of the device was revealed. The OnePlus Watch doesn't break any new ground when it comes to styling, as it features a circular display that is typical for just about every smartwatch that isn't an Apple Watch. In fact, the OnePlus Watch reminds us the most of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 with its sleek, organic shape. There are two buttons on the right side of the casing,... Read more...
Over the past week, the OnePlus 9 Pro's final form was revealed in leaked renders. Today, however, OnePlus is going one step further by providing us with official renders of its upcoming flagship sans the watermarks from typical early leaks.  OnePlus CEO Pete Lau took to Twitter to release a bevy of renders of the OnePlus 9 Pro in a new silvery color called Morning Mist. According to Lau, "it takes 30 steps and more than 25 days to create the final finish on this extraordinary glass." Although users probably aren't that interested in how long it takes for the final product, as long as it's durable, we can't argue with mirror-like good looks. Also clearly visible is the... In case you missed it, the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro smartphones are coming on March 23. That announcement seemed inevitable, since smartphones tend to launch on a roughly a production schedule. While the price of OnePlus smartphones has crept up over the years, shifting its reputation from that of value-priced flagship killer to a more traditional flagship maker, it seems like these phones always have a great blend of features and performance. However, if there's one hole in the OnePlus lineup, it's in companion devices -- particularly, wearable technology like smart watches. That's apparently changing soon, however. The official OnePlus Twitter account has apparently confirmed previous rumors that... Read more...
Tomorrow, the OnePlus 9 family of smartphones will launch. The impending arrival of a new generation of smartphones means that prices are starting to drop considerably on the current-generation devices. Such is the case with the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, which are available at a hefty discount from Amazon. At the lower end of the spectrum is the OnePlus 8T, which has a list price of $749. However, Amazon is currently selling the smartphone for a low $599.99, a $149 discount off the regular asking price. The price is available on both the Aquamarine Green and Lunar Silver edition of the OnePlus 8T. OnePlus 8T Aquamarine Green 12GB/256GB $599.99 @ Amazon OnePlus 8T Lunar Silver... Read more...
It's no secret that the OnePlus 9 family of smartphones is blasting off soon, and in recent weeks we've learned more details about the devices. One recent rumor was that at least the OnePlus 9 Pro would come packing a Hasselblad-branded camera system on the rear, which was later bolstered by OnePlus' "Moonshot" teaser. Today, OnePlus officially announced that it entered a 3-year partnership with Hasselblad to develop a next-generation camera system for the OnePlus 9 Series. Some of the fruits of this new collaboration include technology branded as Natural Color Calibration with Hasselblad. This new feature aims to bring more "accurate and natural-looking" colors to the cameras... Read more...
As we stated in our OnePlus Nord review, the handset is an excellent mid-range 5G Android phone with a beautiful screen, versatile cameras, and strong performance for the money. Will the eventual Nord 2 follow in its predecessor's footsteps and offer the same kind of value proposition? We'll find out very soon—it's apparently launching in just a few months, and without a Qualcomm chip in tow. To be clear, there is no official release date for the Nord 2. The name of the phone does not even officially exist, either. However, what are claimed to be "reliable insider sources" have indicated to AndroidCentral that the Nord's successor for 2021 will indeed be called the Nord 2, and that it will... Read more...
Last April, OnePlus launched the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, which brought Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 brawn to the brand. Since then, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 888, a new mobile platform SoC for 5G flagships, including the rumored OnePlus 9. Now, it is nearly time for OnePlus to make an announcement, and we are starting to hear rumblings of a OnePlus device launch on March 8th. Today, founder and CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau, told people to “Stay tuned for March 8th” with a link to a new OnePlus webpage called “Moonshot.” That webpage says, “Something new is on the horizon,” with another notice to stay tuned to the webpage. We can only speculate that March... Read more...
Things have been relatively quiet on the OnePlus 9 leak front for the past few weeks. However, we're getting our best look yet at the upcoming flagship OnePlus 9 Pro, if these latest images are indeed accurate. YouTuber Dave2D claims to have obtained images of the upcoming OnePlus 9 Pro from an anonymous source, and it's quite an interesting device. The first thing that pops into focus is the rear camera pod, which features Hasselblad branding. Hasselblad is well-known for its high-end professional cameras, and it on occasion lends its expertise to "lesser" consumer electronics devices. The camera systems on previous OnePlus smartphones have been competent, but usually aren't at the... Read more...
The smartphone industry is swiftly shifting to 5G as wireless carriers around the country are lighting up their sub-6GHz and mmWave networks. Needless to say, as smartphone OEMs make the transition, new devices are popping up across a wide spectrum of price points. OnePlus is aiming squarely at the entry-level market with the Nord N10 5G, which just recently became available in the United States after launching first in Europe. The Nord N10 5G is priced at a relatively affordable $299, which is among the cheapest that you'll find for a 5G device. However, both Best Buy and B&H Photo are throwing in a bonus with purchases this week. The retailers are tacking on a $50 gift cards which... Read more...
OnePlus officially launched North American versions of its Nord N10 5G ($299) and Nord N100 ($179) today. The N10 5G is effectively the same affordable 5G phone we reviewed back in November, and the N100 is a low-priced budget 4G handset. We just spent a few days testing the US-bound N10 5G and wanted to give you an update. So what’s changed versus the European variant? Does the aggressive US pricing help better differentiate it in some way? Let’s find out... OnePlus Nord N10 5G Hardware, Design, and Display From a design and materials perspective, the Nord N10 5G for North America is identical to its European sibling. It looks and feels exactly the same, comes in the same fingerprint-prone... Read more...
According to previous leaks, OnePlus has two smartphones geared up for launch during the first quarter of 2021: the flagship OnePlus 9 Pro, which will be joined by the lesser OnePlus 9. Both smartphones are expected to incorporate Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform, which as we've seen from new benchmarks, will provide quite a boost over the outgoing Snapdragon 865. However, there's fresh news today that claims that a third member smartphone will also launch in Q1 2021 to take up a lower price point. It's rumored that the OnePlus 9 Lite will join its higher-end siblings, and will make a few sacrifices to reach a lower price point. For starters, according... Read more...
OnePlus has made a name for itself by shaking up the Android smartphone market with phones that focus on value rather than ultra-premium prices (see our OnePlus Nord review for a recent example), but in a few months, it will add a smartwatch to its portfolio. No exact release date has been set, only that it is coming out sometime in early 2021. It feels like this has been a long time coming, given that smartwatches have proven themselves to be more than a passing fad. And it is not as though OnePlus has focused solely on smartphones up to this point. Earlier this month, OnePlus CEO noted on Twitter that his company has made phone cases, headphones, and even backpacks, and asked what is something... Read more...
It seems Pete Lau and his company, OnePlus, continually strive to innovate with new mobile phones. With every new device, feature, and design, OnePlus pushes the envelope just a little further. Now, the trend is continuing with the unveiling of the OnePlus 8T Concept, a phone designed to "create a more natural interaction between users and the device." At CES 2020, OnePlus unveiled its experimentation with "color-shifting glass technology," which allowed for a disappearing camera feature. Though it may have been an expensive technology at $9,100 for the add-on, it is clearly still worth investigating. Rather than merely hiding a camera, however, OnePlus decided to "craft new interaction experiences... Read more...
We've been made privy of leaked specs for the upcoming OnePlus 9 family of flagship smartphones, and have even seen a few renders of the alleged devices. But over the weekend, the first real life images of the OnePlus 9 have leaked to the internet, which give us a nice all-around view of what OnePlus has in store for customers. We'll start in front, because there don't appears to be many changes at all here. You'll still find a single hole punch cutout in the display that is home to the selfie camera. We also see minimal bezels all around, which has become a design staple of most Android flagships these days. Speaking of the display, it's rumored that the OnePlus 9 has a 6.55-inch flat... Smartphone OEMs are gearing up for the next round of flagship smartphones that will be based around Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 875 SoC. OnePlus is normally among the first to announce new designs based on Qualcomm's newest flagship chips, and that tradition is expected to continue with the OnePlus 9 Pro. First and foremost, we can see that the OnePlus 9 Pro features a 6.7-inch curved 120Hz QHD+ display. There are slim bezels at the top and bottom of the smartphone along with a hole punch cutout for the selfie camera in the top left-hand corner of the display. The familiar OnePlus alert slider and power button are located on the left side of the chassis, while the back is predictably made... Read more...
We've got some great deals for you today if you're looking to purchase a new smartphone and some accompanying accessories. We reviewed the OnePlus 8T last month and found it to be a competent smartphone desperately in need of a price cut. Well, that's just what B&H Photo has in store today for the smartphone. The OnePlus 8T has an MSRP or $749, but B&H Photo is lopping $120 off that price, taking it down to a much more palatable $629. At that price, the OnePlus 8T is definitely more competitive with the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, which has an MSRP of $699, but regularly goes on sale for $599.  While this is a good price, it's not quite as good as the deal from earlier this... Even though OnePlus is still trying to drive its latest OnePlus 8T forward with giveaways, it appears details on the next flagship device have leaked out. The OnePlus 9 is the firm's upcoming device expected to arrive sometime early next year. According to the leak, the phone will ship with some updated specs with a familiar design and will come in two different models, as is standard for OnePlus. Let’s take a look at what OnePlus could have to offer as next year’s flagship phone. Over the weekend, 91mobiles got its hands on alleged CAD renders of the OnePlus 9 from an unnamed leaker. At the front of the device is a familiar hole-punch camera situated in the upper-left corner akin... Read more...
If you're into freebies, we've got a great one for you today that's coming from a joint giveaway put together by OnePlus and T-Mobile. The two companies are doing a scavenger hunt of sorts, and your job is to find three separate pop-up OnePlus stores that have been placed around the United States (which all are conveniently located within T-Mobile's 5G coverage area). Given the fact that we're all suffering through the COVID-19 pandemic, this isn't going to be an event where you actually have to get in your car to search for the pop-up stores or hikes through the woods on-foot to win. Instead, this is an all-digital event and you'll be able to point out on a map where you think each pop-up store... Read more...
When the OnePlus Nord N10 5G and N100 were announced, they seemed like interesting choices for mid-range shoppers. But in our early review of the Nord N10 5G, we found that there were a number of compromises with respect to build quality, the onboard cameras, and overall performance; which is contrary to the “Never Settle” slogan. Now the Nord lineup is getting another ding after it was discovered that Android updates will stop after Android 11. OxygenOS, OnePlus' flavor of Android, is an excellent skin for Android by some accounts; and frequent updates are always. That is why it was surprising that the Nord series would be launching with OxygenOS based on Android 10, rather... Read more...
