For as hard as Activision has been trying to stifle leaked information about Call of Duty: Vanguard through a series of Digital Millennium Copyright Act take down notices, it is proving to be an impossible task. Even the publisher's own partners can't keep a secret, apparently. Earlier this morning, Sony leaked when the Call of Duty: Vanguard reveal is scheduled to take place. Sony's inadvertent tip comes on the heels of several tweets and forum posts being removed, that had depicted artwork and imagery from the upcoming game. Activision is trying really hard to keep everything under wraps, but if Sony's tip is any indication, the publisher can finally dial back its efforts in the coming days.... Read more...
We first noticed last week that Sony would lift its PlayStation Store ban on Cyberpunk 2077. The game was booted from the PlayStation Store shortly after its release in December 2020 due to a litany of performance/gameplay issues and a plethora of bugs that made running the game on PlayStation hardware unbearable. Today, the game reemerged on the PlayStation Store, following months of significant updates and smaller hotfixes from developer CD Projekt Red. The last big update, Patch 1.23, landed on June 17th and brought some much-needed fixes (and polish) for missions, gameplay, and overall performance. Users may continue to experience some performance issues with the PS4 edition while we continue... Read more...
In late March, Sony announced its intention to shutter the online stores for several of its legacy gaming consoles; the PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. The consoles first launched in 2004, 2006, and 2011 respectively. At the time, Sony said that the PlayStation Store for the PS3 and PSP would close on July 2nd, while the PS Vita would see its access revoked starting on August 27th. We didn't think much of it at the time due to the age of the consoles -- especially the PSP -- but owners of those consoles were up in arms over Sony's decision and gave the company quite an earful. Sony is now reversing course, at least partially. The company admitted that "we made the wrong... Read more...
As much as we sometimes want them to, nothing lasts forever. Big Bang Theory, Breaking Bad, and The Office? They all came and went. Toys R Us as we used to know it? Pour one out. And your favorite pair of socks with an increasingly bigger hole in the heel? Eventually you'll have to toss them in the garbage. In just a few months, we can add PlayStation Store access for various Sony consoles to the mix well. You will still be access the PlayStation Store to download games and apps onto your PlayStation 5 and/or PlayStation 4 consoles for a long time to come. But for owners of the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation Portable, the PlayStation Store will soon be locking them out forever,... Read more...
If you have been thinking about getting a game console, now is the time to pull the trigger. There are multiple sales out there, the latest of which is a flash sale in the PlayStation Store with Sony marking down a whole bunch of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 games by up to 70 percent. And by "a whole bunch" we mean well over 100 titles available at massive discounts, along with a collection of movies in standard definition and high definition. "Take a little trip to PS Store this weekend and set your peepers on discounted games like Overwatch Game of the Year Edition, Dragon Age: Inquisition Game of the Year Edition, Uncharted 4, and so much more!," Sony says. Indeed, Sony is selling Overwatch... Read more...
