There's some news out of Reutrers today that states Intel is already sampling 45nm Core Microarcitecture-based processors. Although not stated in the article, the 45nm core being sampled, codenamed "Penryn", is likely to incorporate more L2 cache than current Core 2 Duo processors, and will also have support for SSE4. According to a report on DigiTimes, AMD is planning to launch some new Athlon 64 X2 processors on December 5 that are built using the company's 65nm process node.
