Well it's 11/23 and I've got my first cold of the year :( So what does this mean? I've got nothing to do except cough, and deliver you the news ;) So before the cold medicine renders me unconscious, let's get it on! NVIDIA's SLI - An Introduction! @ HEXUS.net "You'll have to wait for the rest of the articles, but I hope the initial look at things gives you some idea of the operating modes, what SLI can get you in terms of theoretical increases and also increases (or not) in real games. AFR is the dominant mode in the drivers at the time of writing, whether or not it offers the best performance or not, but overall it's a mode that works well. You really have to sit down in front of... Read more...
Check it out folks, dual GeForce 6800 GTs just ready for the bench.  We're waiting for our friends at Asus to deliver the motherboard goodness to go along with these but it's safe to say we'll be burning the midnight oil on this one shortly. This SLI (Scalable Link Interface) connector interestingly enough, is a flexible ribbon cable type.  This design provides a lot more flexibility for motherboard designs with varying 16X PCI Express slot spacing.  The card edge and mating connector is nice press fit design that gets you up and running in seconds.  Just make sure you've got the power supply to drive a pair of NV45 GPUs clocked at this speed.  Good stuff for sure, it's... Good morning all!  NVIDIA informed us of a new program they have started to ensure that consumers who purchase SLI capable motherboards and video cards have a good expereience.  The technology at work in NVIDIA's new SLI implementation is complex, and NVIDIA wants to be sure that someone with an MSI SLI capable motherboard, for example, will be able to use Gainward SLI enabled video cards.  This certification program is definitely a good idea, and should go a long way to ensuring that the move to an SLI capable system is a smooth one... Let's take a walk down memory lane, shall we?  Where were you in 1999?  If you were into the technology scene, especially personal computing, most likely you were scampering about like Chicken Little, wondering what you would do when the sky fell at the end of the year, as the clocks ticked over to the year 2000. The Y2K support and compliance industry was in full bloom, as we all thought our computers, mainframes and networks would somehow spontaneously combust due to the fact that our BIOS firmware, operating systems and application software couldn't handle the roll-over into the new millennium.  In addition to worrying about your soon too be possessed PC, if you were an...
