Intel's ultra-portable Tiger Lake aspirations got off to a great start and reset the playing field for laptop performance, once retail examples broke cover last week. We've all been interested in seeing what the company would do for an encore in segments where power budgets are higher. The last few weeks has been full of exciting product launches, and it seems like it might not let up for the next couple of months. One mammoth release among them is the emergence of Tiger Lake, Intel's 11th-generation Core processor lineup for notebooks and 2-in-1 laptops. Lenovo is looking to break barriers with two new ThinkPad entries that advance the mobile market in completely different ways. The first is the more traditional ThinkPad X1 Nano, which is the lightest ThinkPad that the company has ever created, while the second is the equally fascinating ThinkPad X1 Fold. Earlier this month, Intel launched its highly anticipated 11th generation Tiger Lake platform complete with the 12th generation Iris Xe graphics engine. It is a safe bet that Intel will update its Next Unit of Computing (NUC) family with Tiger Lake at some point, as there have been a few leaks showcasing them already. The latest one is a supposed promotional document outlining some keys specifications and features. It also offers up a few renders showing certain aspects of the upcoming NUC, including the I/O port arrangement. It was only a few weeks ago now that Intel 11th generation Tiger Lake processors [officially] went on the prowl. Intel claims these new processors are the world’s best for thin-and-light devices. Thus, it is not surprising Tiger Lake processors are going to bring power and performance to Chrome OS soon. Intel has been showcasing its forthcoming Tiger Lake mobile processor line-up since its public debut in January of this year at CES. However, more recently the company disclosed the architecture powering the 11th Gen Core series CPUs at its Architecture Day 2020 event and then followed-up quickly with a full product stack unveil. To say anticipation is high for this product would be an understatement. The battle in the high-end graphics market is starting to heat up now that NVIDIA is rocking our world with its 4K beast GPU: the GeForce RTX 3080. And we can't forget that AMD is readying its Radeon RX 6000 "Big Navi" graphics cards for a late October reveal. Intel officially launched its 11th generation Tiger Lake architecture earlier this month, and an army of OEM partners announced that they will be launching new laptops featuring Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors based on this design. It seems the year is starting to pick up steam and move quicker. Intel just can’t seem to keep a lid on the leaks with regards to its upcoming 11th generation Tiger Lake mobile processor platform. Today, a massive leak has occurred, as the company’s entire promo reel for Tiger Lake has been leaked to the internet. Right off the bat, we get a look at Intel’s new Core branding, which was first discovered a month ago in a USPTO trademark filing. When it comes to Intel’s Tiger Lake processors, quite a bit has leaked to the internet already ahead of its early September launch. We’ve seen benchmarks of various members of the family, with the most frequent appearances being made by the Core i7-1165G7. In one of its most recent outings, the Core i7-1165G7 was seen shredding a Ryzen 7 4800U Zen 2 APU in single-threaded benchmarks. Today, however, we’re seeing benchmarks for the flagship Core i7-1185G7 processor, which has also been spotted in the past few months. It won't be long before Intel formally launches its upcoming Tiger Lake mobile CPUs. In the meantime, the company has been sharing more information about Tiger Lake, first during its Architecture Day 2020 event last week, and more recently at the Hot Chips symposium. One of the things to spill out of the latter is a shot of the die that underpins Tiger Lake. Intel is scheduled to do an architectural deep dive on its 10nm Tiger Lake architecture next week, and the actual launch date is set for September 2nd. However, that isn't stopping leaks from making their way to the internet as Intel's OEM partners get their products and marketing materials ready for next month.
