The post is not in english, but the pictures at HKEPC tell the whole story. It seems that some (perhaps all) Radeon X1800 GTO cards can be easily modified to unlock the additional 4 pipelines lurking within the R520 GPU. HKEPC used an HIS card, and simply flashed the BIOS with a modified version that unlocked the additional pipelines....

The Inq is reporting today that ATI is preparing a new X1900-based card to compete head to head with NVIDIA's GeForce 7900 GT, the Radeon X1900 XL. There aren't many details available, but Faud speculates that the XL will feature a single-slot cooler and it's GPU will be clocked at 500MHz+....
