Acer Confirms AMD FreeSync Support For 27-Inch XG270HU Gaming Monitor
FreeSync is a similar (albeit open source) solution designed to eliminate screen tearing and stuttering by taking advantage of the adaptive sync command in DisplayPort 1.2a. It synchronizes the refresh rate of a compatible monitor to that of a compatible graphics card -- in this case, AMD's Radeon R Series -- for a smoother gaming experience.
So in any event, that's what the XG270HU now brings to the table, along with a 2560x1440 (WQHD) resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, edge-to-edge frameless display, built-in 2W speakers, and various input options consisting of HDMI 2.0, dual-link DVI, and DisplayPort.
Look for the XG270HU to ship next month for a price that's yet to be announced.
