The race to launch gaming monitors with impossibly fast response times is accelerating. Just a week ago, Acer unleashed its Predator XN253Q Xwhich has a 0.4ms response time, and today the company is announcing two new monitors in its Nitro XF2 Series.

The 27-inch Nitro XF272 X leads the field with a 3ms native response time; however, that can drop down to an incredible 0.2ms (gray-to-gray) when using the overdrive mode. It is complemented by the 25-inch Nitro XF252Q, which features a still impressive 0.3ms response time in overdrive mode.

Regardless of which monitor you pick, a 240Hz refresh panel is included in the mix along with AMD FreeSync support for your Radeon graphics card (including the new Navi-based Radeon RX 5700 Series). In addition, Acer boasts a brightness rating of up to 400 nits and support for HDR10 content.

Both monitors have a native resolution of 1920x1080, which makes them perfect for eSports fanatics, and there is a built-in black boost offering 11 levels of optimization. For those not in the know, black boost can allow you to enhance darker areas in a scene which could give you a leg-up on the competition in heated battles. Like the Predator XN253Q X, the Nitro XF2 Series also includes six-color axis adjustment and six pre-set display modes.

Acer says that the Nitro XF272 X will be available to purchase later this month from retailers with an MSRP of $449.99. The Nitro XF252Q, on the other hand, is already available at Amazon priced at $349.
