Acer's Latest Windows 10 Devices Boast 17-inch All-In-One With 5-Hour Battery, Aspire R 14 Convertible And Liquid Jade Primo Smartphone

Acer today announced to new PCs running Windows 10; one of which is a rather run-of-the-mill convertible PC, while the other is relatively lightweight all-in-one with an interesting twist. Since we love surprises, let’s first take a look at the Aspire Z3-700 all-in-one.

The Aspire Z3-700 at first looks like a traditional Windows 10 all-in-one, albeit with a smallish 17.3-inch display (1920x1080 with 10-point multi-touch and stylus support). The PC measures 15.6mm thin and weighs just 4.4 pounds (or about the weight of three iPad Pros stacked on top of each other). Inside, you’ll find your choice of Intel Pentium or Celeron processors, up to 8GB of RAM, and HDD or SSD storage options.

What you’ll also find inside the 17.3-inch frame is an integrated battery, which provides 5 hours of runtime when unplugged from a wall outlet. That should provide plenty of juice if you want to bring the machine into the living room to show slideshows to friends and family, or perhaps even watch a few movies on the back porch or poolside.

Acer isn’t providing any information on U.S. pricing or availability, but we do know that it will ship to EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) before the close of 2015 for €599, or roughly $680.

As for that other Windows 10 device, look no further than the 14-inch Aspire R 14 convertible. The Aspire R 14’s display can tilt and swivel, which allows it to be used in Laptop, Display, Tent, and Tablet modes. Powering the convertible are sixth generation Core processors that can be paired with up to 8GB of RAM. Storage duties are handled by SSDs and 802.11ac Wi-Fi with MU-MIMO technology takes care of your invisible high-speed connection to the information superhighway.

This latest evolution of the Aspire R 14 includes what Acer calls a hairline-brush metallic finish along with a diamond-cut edge design. And interestingly enough, it actually is thicker than the aforementioned Z3-700 at 18.5mm, and weighs just slightly less at 4.2 pounds.

The Aspire R14 will be available later this month in the U.S. with a starting price of $699.

Acer also pulled the wraps off the Liquid Jade Primo smartphone which features a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, 21MP rear camera with dual LED flash and runs Windows 10 Mobile. Other than the fact that the smartphone features support for Continuum — which is also supported on the Lumia 950 and 950 XL — not much else is known about the Liquid Jade Primo.
