Alleged OnePlus 7 Pro 5G Phone Images Leak Showing Bezel-Free Display

We’ve been hearing for quite some time that OnePlus is not only working on a follow-up to the OnePlus 6T, but also a 5G variant that would serve as the flagship of the company’s smartphone family. Today we’re getting our first glimpse at what is allegedly the OnePlus 7 Pro, the company’s first 5G smartphone.

Images of the device popped up on Weibo, and they show a device with curved display edges along the side and overall slim bezels. There are also no visible notches or punch hole cutouts, which has us wondering what OnePlus is going to do with the selfie camera. The most obvious design choice in this case would be a slider mechanism, but that is pure speculation at this point.

According to the device information presented in one of the leaked photos, the OnePlus 7 Pro carries the designation GM1915, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. If these images are to believed, the smartphone features a rather large 6.67-inch display and three cameras: 48MP, 16MP and 8MP. If this is indeed a 5G-enabled smartphone, it will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 modem onboard.

Despite this visual “evidence” of an upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro, there are a few things that lead us to believe that this could be a fake. For starters, the placeholder image of the smartphone in the about page is of a OnePlus 6T. Secondly, there are no shots of the rear or top of the phone, which would give us an indication as to whether there truly is a slider mechanism for the selfie camera(s).

With that being said, we are widely expected to see the “standard”OnePlus 7launch within the next few months. That smartphone too will have a Snapdragon 855 SoC, but will include 4G LTE connectivity.
