AMD Rolls Out 50th Anniversary Ryzen 7 2700X And Radeon VII Gold Editions

Ryzen Radeon 50
Over the past week or so, we've seen leaked information and leaks alleging the arrival of 50th anniversary versions of the Ryzen 7 2700X processor and Radeon VII graphics card. Today, AMD officially confirmed those early reports.

The Ryzen 7 2700X Gold Edition is distinguished from the regular run-of-the-mill processor thanks to a laser-etched signature of AMD CEO Lisa Su on the integrated heat spreader and special gold AMD50 packaging. You won't have to pay extra to get this special edition -- it has the same $329 MSRP as the regular Ryzen 7 2700X processor -- and will be available in limited quantities in North America, Latin America, Europe, Greater China and Asia Pacific regions.

As for the Radeon VII Gold Edition, which is priced at $699, it makes its mark with a special red shroud around the triple fans and also comes with special gold AMD50 packaging. Both the AMD50 Ryzen 7 2700X and Radeon VII Gold Editions come with the same specifications and clock speeds as their standard counterparts, so don't expect any bonuses with regards to performance.

AMD is, however, giving gamers something a little bit of an added bonus with the purchase of its Gold Edition SKUs. Included in the purchase will be a coupon code to download a free copy of World War Z and Tom Clancy's The Division 2. The former comes with an exclusive AMD50 skin, while the latter bundles in the Year 1 Season Pass. Also thrown in for good measure is an AMD50 Tribute t-shirt along with a sticker signed by Lisa Su.

You can purchase the Ryzen 7 2700X and Radeon VII Gold Editions starting today from your favorite retailers including Best Buy and Newegg.
