Angry Birds Migrates to Samsung Smart TVs, Makes Use of Gesture and Voice Recognition

What do you get when you cross one of the most popular casual games of all time with a smart TV equipped with gesture and voice recognition? Angry Birds on your big TV, that’s what.

Samsung announced a new Angry Birds Smart TV app for its ES7000/8000/9000 smart TVs that will let users play the game natively, right from the TV itself. However novel playing Angry Birds on a big screen may be, that’s only part of the experience; the smart TVs are equipped with the company’s Smart Interaction technology that uses Kinect-like gesture and voice recognition to let users controls what’s happening on the screen, so you and the kids can fling birds hands-free.

If you haven’t had your fill of Rovio’s Angry Birds yet and are planning to nab a Samsung smart TV, you can scratch the itch later this month when the app becomes available.
