Apple Looks To Add New Samsung Galaxy Tablets and Smartphones To Patent Suit

Just because a jury decided that Samsung owes Apple over a billion dollars as a result of the latter’s patent suit against the former doesn’t mean Apple is sated. According to a Reuters report, the Cupertino company is asking a U.S. District Court judge in San Jose to add several additional Samsung devices to the list of smartphones and tablets that allegedly infringe on its patents to a different lawsuit, filed in February.

Apple believes that Samsung illegally used patents that pertain to UI, style, and technological aspects in many of its devices. Now, Apple is trying to amend its current complaint to include more Samsung products that it believes infringe on its patents, including Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Tab 8.9 WiFi, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Rugby Pro, and Galaxy III Mini (which may or may not eventually land in the U.S.).

Thus continues the bitter legal battle between the two companies, which is a costly front in the wide-ranging war for the mobile market.
