Call of Duty Infinite Warfare And Modern Warfare Remastered Require A Beefy 130GB Free Disk Space On PS4
The wait for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is down to about a month, though in the meantime, the game's retail packaging for the PlayStation 4 gives us something interesting to talk about. Apparently the game, which comes with a digital code to download a remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, will consume 130GB of storage space if installing the entire kit-and-caboodle.
A picture of the box art shows the storage requirement, which is for both titles combined. It's not entirely clear how much space each individual takes up (we'll do some math in a moment), just that the two combined will eat up 130GB of storage. That requirement's been gaining a lot of buzz on the Internet, though it's not all that egregious when you consider that Call of Duty: Black Ops III takes up nearly 59GB of storage. Not at face value, anyway.
This could be the way things are in the future of console gaming. With the PS4 Pro paving the way for 4K resolution gaming and Microsoft's Project Scorpio expected to do the same next year, games are inevitably going to take up more storage space. That's something to keep in mind when buying a new console and debating between different size storage options.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare releases to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 4, 2016.
