Sledgehammer Makes Call of Duty: WW2 Nazi Zombies Official With Glorious Dread And Bloodlust

Activision and Call of Duty: WWII developer Sledgehammer Games hit a bit of a bump in the road over the weekend, when an unfinished trailer
for game’s zombie mode leaked to the internet. Sledgehammer co-founder Glenn Schofield took new of the leak hard, writing on Twitter:

You spend almost three years on something & with 5 days until reveal some &$#%}!! leaks our trailer. Bummed, disappointed.

— Glen Schofield (@GlenSchofield) July 15, 2017

Schofield and another co-founder, Michael Condrey, asked gamers to avoid watching the leaked trailer and wait for the official reveal that was scheduled for Comic Con. Well, the wait is over and Activision today debuted the reveal trailer for Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies. It’s not a very imaginative title, but killing Nazis and zombies is a much-loved pastime for gamers. Pair the two and you have you have a winning combination.

John Horsley, Activision’s Senior Director of Development, revealed a little bit about the plot, which sounds a bit like the [mediocre] movie Monuments Men that came out a few years ago. “They deployed small units looking for stolen art. They find much more than that, however.”

We’re assuming that in this case, they found Nazi zombies looking to ravage them instead of Russians looking to beat them to the stolen art.

The action will take place in a Bavarian village in Mittelburg, Germany. According to Sledgehammer, “This village holds a shadowy secret key to an unimaginable and monstrous power. Nothing is as it seems in this zombies horror, as a dark and sinister plot unfolds to unleash an invincible Nazi army of the dead.”

As if killing Nazi zombies wasn’t thrilling enough, Sledgehammer and Activision have brought together a world-class voice acting crew which includes David Tennant (Doctor Who) and Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction, Mission Impossible).

Call of Duty: WWII and the complementary Nazi Zombies mode will be available on November 3.
