Comcast Announces $65/Month Unlimited Xfinity Mobile Service For Phones

Comcast has just announced its new unlimited wireless service, Xfinity Mobile. The service supposedly provides “America’s largest, most reliable 4G LTE network along with Comcast’s 16 million WiFi hotspots to provide consumers with a better wireless experience, for less money, on today’s most popular devices.” Xfinity Mobile customers will be able to take advantage of Comcast’s WiFi hotspots when available, and Verizon Wireless’ cellular network coverage when needed.

Greg Butz, president of Comcast Mobile, remarked, “We’re doing mobile differently by bringing our customers the best networks and a product designed to save them money in an increasingly data-driven world. Mobility is more important than ever to consumers, so we’ve designed Xfinity Mobile the way mobile should be – a simple solution for internet and entertainment in and out of the home.”

Customers will get unlimited data for $65 USD per line on up to five lines or $45 per line for our customers with X1 packages. Their other option is “By the Gig” or $12 per GB of cellular data across all lines on an account each month. Families can switch between the two plans each month with no penalties. Existing Xfinity Internet customers can get up to five lines with no line access fees, unlimited talk and text, and their first 100 MB of shared 4G LTE data included at no additional cost.

Xfinity Mobile service payments will be automatically billed through the customer’s credit card. Customers will be able to use the Xfinity Mobile app to view their data use and calls logs, switch between data plans, order a new device, and manage payment options. There will be 24x7 support that can either be reached through a phone call or text message. Xfinity Mobile customers will also be able to choose a device from Apple, Samsung, and LG.
