Computex Coverage, DVD Burners and the Athlon 64

Good morning gang.  There is some good happening going on with some news out of Computex and DVD and Athlon64 lovin.  So without further delay, here is your morning news:

The Guys at Hardwarezoom.com got the chance to tour the ABIT manufacturing facility in Taiwan:

"Wonder how Abit did their motherboard testing? Want to know their working environment? Hardwarezoom was invited to visit Abit test labs in Taiwan and in this article, we have plenty of photos to show. Take a look and you will know why they are one of the best motherboard manufacturer in the world."

While they were there, they spent some time at a little event called Computex in Taipei:

"1st June 2004 mark the first day of the highly anticipated Computex Taiwan. Widely regarded as one of the best computer exhibitions in the world, Computex is the main show of all the big guns such as Asus, Abit, MSI, Gigabyte and many more. In this article, Hardwarezoom's editors took many photos on this event with emphasis on the latest gadgets that could hit our market real soon. And of course, who would miss out those Computex babes?"

The Tech Report has a review of Abit's KV8 Pro motherboard:

"EARLIER THIS WEEK, AMD launched its long-awaited Socket 939 platform, and there was much rejoicing. But the rejoicing was followed by a heavy sigh, for as promising as AMD's dual-channel Athlon 64s are, the cheapest one rings in at $500. Ouch. For $500 can also buy an Athlon 64 2800 , 1GB of DDR400 memory, a shiny Antec Sonata case, and one of Abit's new KV8 Pro Socket 754 motherboards."
