Fallout 76 Bug Enabled Permanent GodMode For One Player And Bethesda Was Unbothered

According to redditor Brogadyn, a bug in Fallout 76 has rendered his character unkillable. No matter what Brogadyn did to try to kill his female character, she survived unscathed. The bug appeared out of nowhere according to Brogadyn, and allows his character to effectively take a nuclear blast to the face without any ill effects.

While such an issue with a game is perhaps annoying (especially given how some people could take advantage of such a "gift"), Brogadyn was most taken aback at Bethesda's nonchalant attitude to what amounts to a serious bug. He contacted Bethesda about the bug last Friday, and didn't receive an official response until Thanksgiving Day. And even then, it was a canned response that didn't even address the matter at hand.

Brogadyn further expressed his frustrations, writing:

I've had to limit myself to more boring activities because I do not want my exploration, or the PvP aspect ruined by my godmode, and the annoying thing is that at some point I’m just going to have to not care if they cannot fix it - my character is currently nearly level 100, and just hit the cap limit - so what the heck am I supposed to do besides actually starting to make all content in the game trivial? 

I'm just writing this because I’m frustrated, and I really have no clue on how to fix the issue to allow myself to progress again both gear wise, and story wise. 

Some gamers saw humor in Brogadyn's predicament, with NIGHTFURY-21 writing, "Use it to your advantage. Try and get the largest cap bounty in the game". Phaz0n adding, "Yes, he should become a legend, a true god. You've been chosen, play with it."

After garnering quite a bit of attention on reddit, a Bethesda Community Manager finally chimed in asking for further account details so that it could track down the issue. It's unfortunate that it took nearly a week -- and a lengthy reddit thread -- for Bethesda to react, but at least it's now on the case.
