Gainward's "Other" 512MB Graphics Cards

The Inquirer reports that Gainward is set to launch two new sku's that utilize 512MB of memory. Fortunately, Gainward has spared us the pain of seeing yet another entry-level GPU paired with 512MB of memory it will likely never fully use. Instead, Gainward is launching a 512MB GeForce 7800 GT as well as a 512MB GeForce 6800 GS. Given the company's past, it seems safe to assume we'll be seeing some healthy overclocked frequencies out of the box to accompany the increased memory size. Hopefully, we'll get a chance to benchmark these cards and see whether either can fully utilize the larger memory.

GAINWARD decided to deploy a different tactic this time around. As it could not get any serious numbers of Geforce 7800 GTX 512 chips, it decided to make its own 7800 based card with 512MB of memory. The company got the first samples of Geforce 7800 GT with 512MB of 1.4 ns memory. The card will be known as the Gainward PowerPack! Ultra/3450PCX TV DVI "Golden Sample" Goes like Hell.
