Google Music All But Confirmed By Motorola's Sanjay Jha
Motorola is in a good position to know. They're shipping the first Android 3.0 tablet once the Xoom launches, and obviously multi-media is a big part of that. Rumors have been swirling for over a year now that Google was considering their own music service, and with the massive success of iTunes, why not? Google has shown that they're capable of competing with Apple in the mobile space (just look at Android), and if there's a compelling rival to iTunes, surely people would pay attention.
Unfortunately, Jha wasn't able to elaborate, so there still remains quite the mystery. No one in the public world knows when Google Music will launch, what kind of service it'll be, and how much it'll cost (if it's a subscription service at all). It's possible that Apple was feeling the heat when they recently launched a subscription option of their own, but only time will tell what's up Google's sleeve. Any time now, Google!
