Fresh Google Pixel 3 XL Leak Confirms Single Rear Camera

One of the most highly anticipated Android phones of 2018 is no doubt the Pixel 3 family, which will usher in Google's Android P operating system. The first-generation Pixel and Pixel 2 phones dazzled with their excellent system performance and stunning cameras, and we expect no less with the Pixel 3 lineup.

The latest leak, which comes courtesy of Ice Universe, seemingly confirms that the Pixel 3 XL will continue to feature just a single camera on the rear of the device. Ice universe posted an image of a third-party case that shows rear cutouts for the single camera, LED flash and fingerprint reader.

The leak lines up with pictures of a leaked Pixel 3 XL prototype that we reported on just over a week ago. That leak showed the device, codename Crosshatch, from nearly every angle.

To be honest, we're not really surprised nor disappointed that Google has decided to continue on the single-camera crusade when flagship competitors are adopting dual- and even triple-camera setups. Google has proven time and time again that it can achieve comparable results with a single camera, so why mess with a good thing?

The Google Pixel 3 is said to include a 5.3-inch display, while the Pixel 3 XL will hit 6.2 inches. The Pixel 3 XL also has a display notch and apparently dual cameras up front. We're expecting that the Pixel 3 XL will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, at least 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage (or more). USB-C connectivity remains, as does a 3.5mm headphone jack (which is becoming a rarity on today's smartphones).
