G.Skill Trident Z Neo Memory Cranks Blistering DDR4-3600 Speeds For AMD Ryzen 3000 And X570

The memory kits will be available in up to four configurations: 16GB (8GBx2), 32GB (8GBx4), 32GB (16GBx2) or 64GB (16GBx4). The Trident Z Neo Series is available in 2666MHz, 3000MHz, 3200MHz, or 3600MHz speeds. Those 3600MHz speeds are achievable at 1.4V and timings of CL14-15-15-35. G.Skill says that it was able to validate these speeds using an ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Formula motherboard and a Ryzen 5 3600 processor during a 5-hour stress test.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind here. For starters, the top-spec DDR4-3600 kit is only available in 16GB and 32GB (8GBx4) configurations. Secondly, at speeds up to DDR4-3733 with Ryzen 3000 processors, Infinity Fabric and the memory clock are running at a 1:1 ratio to help minimize latency (67ns at 3733MHz). Once you start hitting 3866MHz and above, the ratio shifts to 2:1 and you'll see an uptick in memory latency (as high at 80ns at 3866MHz). You’ll see increased bandwidth for sure, but that might not necessarily translate into added performance.

So, you'll need to keep this in mind if you want to start overclocking these memory chips to insane levels. Speaking of which, G.Skill has already demonstrated its DDR4 memory hitting 5774MHz speeds using a MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE motherboard (albeit LN2 was necessary to achieve that high watermark).

Besides the incredible performance afforded by the Trident Z Neo Series, the memory modules’ brushed aluminum heat spreader features a contrasting black/silver color scheme and 8-zone RGB lighting elements. The RGB lights can be controlled with G.Skill's Trident Z control software and are compatible with ASUS Aura Sync, Gigabyte RGB Vision, MSI Mystic Light, and ASRock Polychrome.

According to G.Skill, its newest Trident Z Neo Series DDR4 kits will be available starting this month from its retail partners. Pricing hasn't been announced at this time.
