Here's How To Download The Original Witcher PC Game Classic For Free

Witcher

Maybe your first introduction to Geralt was in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the popular action role-playing game developed by CD Projekt Red and released in 2015. Given the game's success—CD Projekt Red said in 2016 that it sold nearly 10 million copies around the world—there's probably a lot of users who are curious about the earlier games in the series. Well, if you are one of those users, head over to GOG and claim your free copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition.

It's an older game, obviously, and not very expensive to begin with—it usually sell for $10, and sometimes cheaper if you can catch it on sale. Whatever, grabbing it for free is still the best deal. If nothing else, go claim a copy and save it for a rainy day. GOG will also gift you a keg of Gwent cards for The Witcher Card Game as well, which is featured in the The Witcher 3 and is now a standalone card game.

Even the enhanced version of The Witcher doesn't look as good as The Witcher 3, and you might not like the gameplay as much, either. However, underneath it all is an engaging story line.

"Set in a dark fantasy world with a unique medieval, yet somewhat modern, feel to it, The Witcher isn't just another fantasy RPG. With a deep story, complex characters, and tough choices that actually matter, this game will keep you glued to your monitor for days," the game's description reads.

The enhanced version came out a little over a year after the original. It contains better looking graphics with over 200 new animations, additional NPC models, and expanded dialogue. It also contains a bunch of bug fixes and some new adventures. In short, the enhanced edition is the version to play.
