Lenovo’s IdeaCentre Y710 Cube Proves Resistance Is Futile With GeForce GTX 1080 Firepower
Despite having Cube in its name, the IdeaCentre Y710 is actually more rectangular in shape, with dimensions of 15.48” x 9.38” x 12.38” — the chassis itself weighs 16.3 pounds. However, what you really want to hear about is what’s inside, and the IdeaCentre Y710 Cube doesn’t disappoint.
Intel’s full stable of Skylake processors are supported (up to a Core 3.4GHz Core i7 with 8MB cache), while up to 32GB of DDR4 memory can be added. Heck, if you want a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 under the hood, Lenovo will gladly oblige and allow you to add one into the mix. Storage duties are handled by up to a 256GB SSD (which will have Windows 10 Home preinstalled) paired with a 2TB HDD to handle all of your data and media storage. And you’ll also find Killer DoubleShot Pro (GbE/Wi-Fi) along with a built-in receiver that supports a wireless Xbox One game controller.
Needless to say, you won’t be starved for power when it comes time to crank up DOOM or No Man’s Sky, and all of your 4K needs will be handled with aplomb.
Not to be outdone, Lenovo also has a new all-in-one PC to show off: the IdeaCentre AIO Y910. The AIO Y910 features a 27-inch QHD (2560x1440) IPS display and shares the same angular design language as the Y710 Cube. The Y910 is also upgradable, giving you access to critical components like the GPU, memory and storage without the need for additional tools (pressing a single button pops off the back panel).
Like the Y710, this all-in-one also supports Skylake Core i7 processors and GeForce GTX 1080 graphics. Also on tap are Killer DoubleShot networking, two USB 2.0 ports, three USB 3.0 ports, and a 6-in-1 card reader.
The IdeaCentre Y710 Cube launches this October with a starting price of $1,299, while the IdeaCentre AIO 910 will be priced from $1,799.
